The Irish Santa
Christmas in Ireland is a holy time celebrated with church services, family gatherings, storytelling, good food. Music and dance. The Irish Santa joins in the festivities with a dance and music from the accordion. He is accompanied by a leprechaun, playing a violin and sitting by a candle that symbolizes Irish culture: a book of poems, Gulliver’s Travels, Irish lace, a castle, balls of yarn, the flag of Ireland and a thatched cottage for the Holy Family. A green Christmas is the norm in Ireland, and the Irish Santa wears a coat reflecting the beautiful green fields.
