Mary, the Mother of Jesus, has many namesakes, and none is more appropriate at this time than “Mary, Mother of the Earth.” Since the beginning of time, human beings have referred to our planet earth as “she,” or “Mother,” the giver of life and protector of humanity. As the perfect mother with her Baby, Jesus, “Mary, Mother of the Earth” reminds us to be keepers and protectors of our beautiful planet. We are able to be nurturers of all living things and responsible parents to our children on earth.
