Christmas Ark
The story of Noah’s Ark has always been a favorite Bible story for children. They love hearing about all the animals, two by two, boarding the giant ark. Many fathers have handcrafted an ark and animals out of scraps of wood for their children at Christmastime. Even our Puritan forefathers made the “Sunday Toy” for their little ones, despite their religious law that frowned on playing on holy days.

The richly dressed Christmas Ark Santa carries a very special ark because, in addition to the traditional animals, an open door reveals a glowing light that silhouettes the Holy Family. The roof of the ark has a bell tower with a with a tiny star-topped Christmas tree. While he holds the ark in his arms, the sack on Santa’s back is overflowing with gifts, and a dove brings the message of hope and peace.
